Crunch Time

Well the 12th of July is nearing and at this point of the day, in 6 days time, the Made on the Left Market will be wrapping up. That leaves only 5 full days left to get everything ready! It's just after 4pm Sunday, so I still have the rest of the night to go, but that will fly by as I still have to get everything ready for work in the morning. I have a full time Monday-Friday job (other than making jewellery), which only leaves the nights free for preparation. Eek! I feel like I have so much more to make and get ready to go, I will really need to use my time wisely.

So...I shouldn't really be on the computer, but I've been neglecting my blog and have decided that I will try to post more regularly. Seeing as I'm still new to blogging, I think I'll try to start off with a weekly post, and then maybe more from there.

My aim this week, is to make at least one necklace per night, plus as many earrings as I have time to design and make. So no doubt I'll be up till the wee hours of the morning and be a zombie at work! Well, hopefully not...I'll let you know how I go, and I look forward to sharing my experience of the first Made on the Left event next week : )

Made on the Left

The news is out! Made on the Left has been formed and is holding it's launch event on Saturday the 12th of July at the Hyde Park Hotel from 11am - 4pm (isn't the poster below just awesome?!).

This designer art and craft market is not to be missed - jam packed with all the handmade goodness you can dream of! I am super excited to be a part of this event. We hope to make Made on the Left an abundant source of information for both artists/designers as well as those searching for unique art and crafts. Check out our blog for more info.

The event (and MOTL) would not have been possible without the amazing team effort by the committee which consists of Dara Clemens of Dara Art, Sarah Gazia of Odd Girl Out, Alicia Rosam of Aussiepatches, Jacquie Ramsden of Ramsden Designs ...and then there's little old me, Rosanna Elizabeth : )

I look forward to keeping you informed on this exciting journey!

Catching Up...

Well, it has taken me a while to get on top of things after the home show on May 3rd, and I can proudly say that it was a huge success! Thanks to everyone that attended on the day and to the other artists that participated, I appreciate all your support. There ended up being 7 of us in total displaying our wares. It made for a fun day and a great way to show off our handmade delights!

Here are some pics taken on the day...

This is how I displayed my jewellery.

This was Kathy's display which included lovely pillowcases and amazing quilts.

These bags and clothes are also Kathy's. I accidentally deleted a few photos before transferring them to my computer (sorry!). But you can see Sandy's beautiful handcrafted cards in the background. On the other side of the table were Jo's gorgeous children's aprons, bags and gift boxes as well as some of Kathy's amazing dolls.

This was Ali's unique modern art and illustration setup for the day.

This was Anne Ny's amazing water colour painting setup.

This was a part of Jeff's leadlighting display, which was amazing!

I am hoping that this will become an annual or even a twice yearly event. I will keep you posted and if there are any other artists closeby who wish to participate - drop me a line!

The Handbook to Handmade

The Handbook to Handmade Volume 5, by Timothy Adams, is due to be released soon!
I am honoured to be among the other talented artists in this issue and cannot wait to display it at my upcoming show - I think I will need to purchase more than one copy to give to friends and family as well as have some to leave with shops! The Handbook to Handmade is released monthly and is superb to use as a coffee table book. It's great to use for promoting your own products at places like craft shows and directly to wholesalers.

All volumes can be purchased from Timothy Adams Etsy shop - TimothyAdamsDesigns.

You can read more about The Handbook to Handmade on the official blog.

Blue Sea Bracelet

This is the first piece in my new series of wire wrapped bracelets. I've named it my "Blue Sea" bracelet because the beautiful mixture of blues reminds me of the sea. It features Pacific Opal, Mint Alabaster, Caribbean Blue Opal, Clear AB and White Alabaster genuine Swarovski crystals. I can't wait to show you more pieces as I create them!

Rosanna Elizabeth...handcrafted jewellery & gifts!

First I'll give you a bit of an introduction...

I am from Australia, I have lived here my whole life. I was born in Bunbury, Western Australia and grew up on a farm in a small town called Donnybrook which is renowned for the Big Apple. Since graduating from high school in 2000, I have completed a Diploma in Marketing Management at TAFE and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at Murdoch University. I now live in Bunbury and spend most of my spare time crafting. I make very unique jewellery pieces - ranging from antique button necklaces, ribbon flower bracelets, wire wrapped pendants, through to simple and elegant earrings and necklaces, as well as a beautiful bridal range. I love learning new techniques and can make almost anything that you desire.

My jewellery range is available online at rosannaelizabeth.etsy.com. I also sell my jewellery at local craft fairs in Western Australia and I will keep you up to date on these as they arise.
I take both retail and wholesale orders. I also welcome custom orders.

If you have any queries or requests, please contact me through rosannaelizabeth.etsy.com or send me an email.
